TERM AND PLACE FOR SUBMISSION AND ACCOMPANYNG DOCUMENTS


All nominations should be submitted on the forms provided by BBVA Foundation, together with the documentation specified. Forms and call conditions can be requested from BBVA Foundation at the e-mail address convocatorias@fbbva.es or downloaded in FORMS.

Nominations should be sent on paper (original and copy) and electronic support (CD or diskette) in a single package to Fundación BBVA in Bilbao (Gran Vía, 12. 48001 Bilbao) or Madrid (Paseo de Recoletos, 10. 28001 Madrid), with the words CONSERVATION AWARDS 2004 written on the envelope.

The deadline for submission is 30 July 2004 at 14:00 (i.e. nominations must be in the Foundation offices on 30 July before 14:00).

Submissions will consist exclusively of the following documents, according to the prize category:

RESEARCH IN
CONSERVATION
BIOLOGY
• Nomination addressed to the Secretary of the Jury for the BBVA FOUNDATION 2004 AWARD FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN CONSERVATION BIOLOGY sent and signed by the senior representative of the institution submitting the entry or by each of the independent scientists endorsing it.
• A short dossier (maximum of 2,000 words in English) introducing the research group, with details on its past experience, line of work and the main results obtained in the last five years, along with the participation ratio of individual members (to serve in dividing up the prize money for the winning entry) presented by the Chief Researcher.
• A description by the nominator (maximum of 1,000 words in English) of the achievements making the group worthy of the award.
• A detailed CV of each member of the research group.
• Copies of the 10 joint papers of most international impact published in the last ten years.
BBVA FOUNDATION 2004 AWARD FOR
BIODIVERSITY
CONSERVATION
PROJECTS
• Nomination addressed to the Secretary of the Jury for the BBVA FOUNDATION 2004 AWARD FOR BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION PROJECTS sent and signed by the senior representative of the institution submitting the entry.
• Supporting arguments for the nomination by the institutions and/or experts endorsing it, with the corresponding signatures.
• A short dossier (maximum of 2,000 words in English) on the intervention carried out, with details on the funds applied and financing sources.
• Description of the results obtained and evidence of their impact, with supporting indicators (maximum of 2,000 words in English).
• A detailed CV of the main actors in the project, with the name of a contact person for the purpose of this call.
• A written description of the organisation which conducted the project, with details on its activity in the last five years (maximum of 2,000 words in English), listing all projects completed and scheduled.
• Copy of documentation accrediting the intervention.

(*) The entities selected must furnish the following documents after the award decision is made:

• Copy of the entity’s entry in the corresponding register.
• Copy of bylaws.
• Copy of tax identification card.
• Proof that its entry is supported by its governing bodies.
• A certificate from the tax authorities accrediting its charitable or non-profit status.

DISSEMINATION AND SENSITISATION IN
BIODIVERSITY
CONSERVATION
• Nomination addressed to the Secretary of the Jury for the BBVA FOUNDATION 2004 AWARD FOR KNOWLEDGE DISSEMINATION AND SENSITISATION IN BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION, sent and signed by the senior representative of the institution submitting the entry or by each of the independent scientists endorsing it.
• A short dossier (maximum of 2,000 words in English) presented by the candidate on the work of scientific dissemination carried out with details of its main results.
• A description by the nominator (maximum of 1,000 words in English) of the achievements making the candidate worthy of the award.
• A detailed CV of the candidate.
• Copy of the material, or proof of the activities developed in the past five years.
The BBVA Foundation guarantees the complete confidentiality of all documents, which will be kept on record after the award.
