BBVA FOUNDATION AWARDS FOR BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

Distinguishing:

Scientific achievement

Innovative actions

Knowledge dissemination

in Biodiversity Conservation in SPAIN and LATIN AMERICA.

The BBVA Foundation Awards for Biodiversity Conservation stand alongside the Programme of Research Grants in Conservation Biology as an expression of the BBVA Group’s engagement with the conservation of the natural environment, by promoting scientific knowledge, supporting practical interventions and raising public awareness on the issue.

Conserving biological diversity is one of the central challenges of the early twenty-first century. A challenge that must be urgently addressed by means of advanced scientific knowledge, courses of practical action and the involvement of society at large.

The BBVA Foundation Awards for Biodiversity Conservation recognise and reward excellence
in scientific research, innovative, practical actions in nature conservation, and the dissemination of knowledge and social sensitisation on preserving the natural environment.

These Awards seek to reinforce the prestige and public image of
the scientific community and all the organisations and professionals working tirelessly in their fields to conserve our biodiversity heritage.
