GENERAL:
- The toolbar now shows only the active buttons.
- Two buttons added to the toolbar for instant access to both
Data Entry and Definition Wizard.
- Winisis now may save its window status and all the fonts used.
- Unselectable dictionary terms now appears grayed.
- An alternative DAT file has been added for those people using
large font size in Windows.
- Accents are now supported on labels.
- Winisis verifies if syspar.par paths exist or not.
- ISISAC and ISISUC tables have been implemented.
- Dbn.SRT table for sorting terms, has been implemented.
PRINT FORMATS:
- Hypertextual debugging of formats added.
- When saving a format with a new name, the FDT is updated.
- Indentation commands with values greater than 43 (e.g.
v24(50)
are now accepted.
- PFT command "f" (select font) is now working.
- PFT command REF now works properly when referencing a
different database.
- Winisis now saves PFT files in the proper directory.
- The maximum format length is now 8,000 charaters.
- New formats for command DATE:
1: gets Date and Time
2: gets Date
3: gets Time
- Added @ for including external formats.
- Dummy fields do no longer need to be followed by commas.
- Fixed: bug for if v10='' or v10<>'' when field 10 is empty.
- Added OCC function. See README.WRI for examples.
- Added TYPE function. See README.WRI for examples.
- Added S function. See README for its new features.
- Added Hypertext command: GOBACK. It allows to go back to the
previous displayed record.
- Changed command TEXTBOX. See README.WRI for further
informations.
MENUS:
- An option for saving the current configuration has been added.
- An option for reload the syspar.par has been added.
- A Tile Vertical option has been added.
MESSAGES:
- The message system has been changed and it is similar to the
DOS version. It is not compatible with the previous version.
DEFINITION WIZARD:
- It is possible to create and edit Data Entry worksheets.
- New Data Entry worksheets are fully compatible with ISIS DOS.
- It is possible to create new formats.
BROWSE WINDOW:
- It's now possible to change the font when splitted the Browse
window.
- A button for calling the dictionary has been added.
- Pressing enter when editing a format, will execute it.
SEARCH WINDOWS:
- Added a "Clear" button to EASY search.
- Calling a non-existing dictionary will show an empty dictionary
window without crashing.
- Free Text Search facility has been added.
SYSPAR.PAR
- Parameter 8 (Occurrence separator string) is now accepted.
- Added par. 111 for saving the Print Format Font.
- Added par. 122 for saving the main window status.
- Added par. 123 for showing or not empty fields in Data Entry
- Added par. 130 for automatically updating the IF when
exiting the data entry.
- Added par. 112 for saving the last used printer.
- Added par. 131 for setting the maximum length of a word. This
allows Winisis to handle alphabets such Chinese that do not use
spaces to separate words.
- Added par. 132 for showing or not a dialog message when ISIS
Pascal Interpreter finds an error.
- Parameter 6 now accepts more than one database. Names must be
separated by commas. You may specify both full path names and
names only. In this case Winisis will search in the default
database path (parameter 5).
- WPR files (print worksheets) will be saved in the parameter
10 directory.
DATA ENTRY:
- Reduced flickering when browsing from Data Entry.
- A "Display all field" toggle button has been added.
- Description of repeatable fields is now always visible.
- Calling data entry from the DBASE window now always shows the
current browsed record.
- Worksheet default values are now accepted and displayed.
- Winisis handles % to insert new occurrences in repeatable
fields and the parameter 8 in syspar.
- SHIFT-ENTER allows to go one field up.
- Winisis will display the right record after that a new one has
been saved.
PRINT:
- An "Output to ASCII file" option has been added. It saves the
print file in the work directory of the syspar.par. The
save file is dbnxxx.txt.
- Fixed. Crash when trying to print sorted records with empty
keys.
IMPORT:
- The default option is now MERGE.
INVERTED FILE:
- I/F generation speed performance has been improved.

WINDOWS 95 Compatibility:
- Pseudo-long directory names (e.g. mydocu~1) are now accepted.
DATABASE STRUCTURE:
- The maximum size of a record is now 30,000 characters.
Note that databases using such size are no more compatible
with the DOS version.
NON-ANSI Characters
- Winisis now uses DOS-ISIS compatible ISISAC and ISISUC tabs.
MENU:
- Improved menu dimming.
MULTI-USER:
- Winisis now handles concurrent access to databases in Data
Entry.
SYSPAR.PAR:
- Added par. 124 for opening the default database (par. 6) as
a VIEW object (parameter non documented in the manual)
- Parameter 0 (redirection) implements prompts '?' or '!'.
- Parameter 14 (multi-user) is now active.
- Parameter 110 now accepts Isis commands instead of RTF.
- Changed the format of conversion tables (that is compatible
with the old one)
- Active language is saved when exiting.
- Added par. 141 for specifying pattern directory.
PRINT FORMATS:
- Added Isis Pascal program ISISPT to display background patterns.
- Added hypertext command VIEW.
- Added hypertext command LGOTO.
- Enhanced command TEXTBOX.
- TEXTBOX allow to display Bitmaps (with scroll bars).
- Enhanced command FORMAT.
- Enhanced command BROWSE.
- Tabulators (Cn) have been fixed.
- Changed command LR.
- Added command WHILE and local variables.
- Added command box().
- Added hypertext command VIEWL.
- Added hypertext command prefix PROMPT.
- Save of print formats fixed.
PRINT:
- Fixed problem when printing unpersand '&'.
- Fixed: sometimes a record was printed twice in a page.
- Fixed: Headings didn't respect the EOC paramter.
- Print to ASCII now lets you choose the file name.
- Print to Postscript now lets you choose the file name.
- It is possible to output in both OEM and ANSI ASCII codes.
- Is it possible to print indexes, by specifying '*' as the
print format.
- The dialog box now shows both the current loaded worksheet
name and the default printer's name.
- Stopword file is now supported.
- @fstname for including external FST files is now supported.
- The maximum length of the extracted keys is now 4096 chars.
- Multiple line sort keys have been implemented: accepted FST
separators are both the carriage return and the ' + ' (blank,
plus, blank) string.
TOOLS:
- Added the GLOBAL TEXT REPLACE tool, for changing the
content of a range of records (or search result).
- Added a tool to UNLOCK a range of records.
- Added a tool to UNLOCK the current database.
- Changed the Open Dialog: more than one type of file is now
displayed.
- Export: is now possible to export the marked records.
- Import: is now possible to cancel the operation.
- CANCEL button is now really working. It is available for
all tools except sorting.
- CANCEL button now asks the user if he really meant to do so,
giving the option to resume the operation.
- A new PROGRESS status bar has been added to each tool.
SEARCH:
- Is now possible to STOP the Free Text search process.
DATA ENTRY:
- Changed the Window Interface.
- Added: "Clear fields" option.
DICTIONARY WINDOW:
- Dictionary is now resizable, in order to display more (or
less) terms in a page.
- Dictionary now interacts with the Easy Search Window.

- Improved multi-user management in Data Entry.
DATA BASE WIZARD:
- A new database definition Wizard has been added.
- FST (Dictionary) assistant.
- PFT (Print format) assistant.
- The wizard can also edit existing databases.
SYSPAR.PAR:
- Changed parameter 124: now it accepts 4 more parameters for
setting the initial position and the size of the browse window.
- Changed parameters 1000-....: it is now possible to specify
a brief description of the database just after the filename.
(see WINISISX.DOC for more information).
- Added par. 135 for displaying a sort of format toolbar when
displaying a search result.
- Added par. 136: sets the initial zooming value of database
windows. Default is 120, value may vary from 80 to 160.
- Added par. 140 for not displaying the content of logically
deleted records.
- Added par. 142 for enabling and setting the highlighting of
retrieved terms when displaying a search result.
- Added par. 902 for debugging hypertexts.
- Added par. 144 for forcing the list-mode display of searches
when there is only one resulting record.
- Added per. 150 for setting the DATE format: available formats are
* default (no parameter) Month-Day-Year
* DMY (stands for Day-Month-Year)
* YMD (stands for Year-Month-Day)
Users of the same database (at least for Data Entry) should use
the same date format.
- Added par. 980 to change the display of search results: when set
to 1, records will be displayed as a clickable list.
PRINT FORMATS:
- Command DATE now handles 4 digits years (starting from 1900).
- It is possible to set the DATE format from the SYSPAR (par 150)
- Under the form of RTF commands (to be inserted as literals),
the following commands have been added:
* \qr Justify to the right
* \isishc Sets the hypertext color
* {\title xxx} Sets the window title
* \sbknone Keeps current line intact
* \cb Sets foreground color for dotted boxes
* \chpict xxx Displays bitmap xxx in the text.
xxx may contain a pathname.
* \chpict1 x y Displays a bitmap x in the text. When the
mouse cursor moves onto it, Winisis displays
picture y (BMP)
* \brdrdot Dotter border around the paragraph
* \isispatt xxx Sets the current background pattern as BMP xxx
* \isisbgbmp xx Displays BMP xx in the background
* \pictscaled n Align the background bitmap

list has been added.
TOOLS:
- An "Advanced Functions" dialog box has been introduced for
grouping all Locking/unlocking functions and statistics.
- Two items for zooming in and out have been added to menu.
- Print Current Page option has been added to menu.
- A "System settings" dialog box has been added for setting
almost all SYSPAR.PAR parameters from Winisis.
- Fast-access print dialogs have been added. They are accessible
from the new Search Result Interface.
DISPLAY:
- Enhanced Arab version (par 108=1).
- Scroll bar drag has been implemented.
- Display of dialog boxes has been enhanced.
INTERNATIONALIZATION:
- Added French
- Added Spanish (Spain)
- Added Spanish (Colombia)
EXAMPLES (Test all display formats!!)
- Added CDS Database Example, with Winisis formats and
hypertext examples. Features also interactive pictures.
- Added THES Database. It is an example of thesaurus that
can be browsed through hyperlinks using Winisis formatting
commands.
